Jul. 17th, 2009 @ 11:45 am Small victories
On a rather positive note...I have managed to maintain my stairclimbing activities, even with no specific goal like a wedding to go to. I still do this usually thrice a week, but I try not to beat myself up if I only do it twice. I'm also following the Hundred Push Ups app on my phone, and I am at over 80 at this point. They *are* girl push ups, but with my miserable upper body strength, I take what victories I can get. The emergency stairwells are almost unbearably hot at this point in the year, so I'm proud that I have managed to keep on truckin'.

I haven't gone down a size, which is what I was hoping for, but there has definitely been some noticeable change, especially in my legs and butt. Overall, the goal *should* be improved health and I think I am managing that. I might have gotten down to a halfway point between my current size and one smaller, so there may be further developments in that arena. Of course, the trick now is to somehow manage to burn some of this belly fat--so difficult to do.

Overall, I feel better about myself, which is good. And I have definitely got some killer legs at this point, which is also good. And with the pushups, I'm working towards getting arms like Kate from Lost (not ripped, just toned, defined.)

And on that note, it's time to climb.

Don't be afraid to do isometric workouts! If you can't do anything but a girly push-up, try doing the push-up the way you can't do it, holding the most tenuous point for several seconds; Even if you don't get any lift it'll still do what you want it to do. =)
